Pilates, cancer and emotional care

Every day we have an opportunity to enjoy life.

After suffering from cancer we can take this opportunity to look after ourselves changing unhealthy patterns into new healthy habits. Body and mind are interlinked. Pilates can help us to find the balance between these two unseparate parts.

 

 

 

 

Urban Pilates and Centre of Creative Accompaniment have joined efforts to create a new and useful programme for those who are recovering from cancer. The classes will be free of charge. The exercise could help you to overcome physical and emotional difficulties due to stress, treatments or surgery.

The programme combines emotional counseling and pilates weekly classes. Pilates was created at the beggining of XX Centuty by Josept Pilates which articulate yoga, gym movements and dance. It is a method to trained the body and mind that joins movement and muscular strength with mental concentration, breath and relaxation. Current studies proves the benefit of doing Pilates in those who has been going through cancer.

We will make groups by age (children, adolescents and adults).

We will offer you two interviews with our team (one at the beginning and one at the end of the programme).

The programme will take place along 3 months.

Starting day: 27th January 2012.

Every Friday 1 hour class.

Up to 8 persons in each group.

  • Grupo 1 (Adults): 9:00 a 10:00
  • Grupo 2 (Adults): 11:00 a 12:00
  • Grupo 3 (Children): 16:30 a 17:30. From 9 to 13 years.
  • Grupo 4 (Adolescents): 19:30 a 20:30. From 14 to 18 years.

 

To take part you need to have:

a) Commitment to enjoy every Pilates lesson.

b) Medical check up.
